GPS technology was first developed in the 1970’s by the United States government as part of their defense strategy. GPS uses a satellite network to determine the exact position of an object at a given time. Advancements in technology have seen the development of real time GPS vehicle tracking devices that relay information about a vehicle. This device can be conveniently installed in a vehicle since once installed it is not noticeable. Once installed it is able to provide information instantly, hence the name real time. Unlike passive systems, where you retrieve information afterwards, real time devices provide current and up to date information.
The fact that you can receive information as it happens makes this tracking device amazing. When a car exceeds the maximum speed limit or goes beyond its boundaries the owner is alerted instantly, not like passive tracking devices where information can only be relayed after specific time intervals. For those in the transportation business there is a fleet tracking option, which can be used for multiple tracking of your vehicles. For such a wonderful device that provides information in real time, the cost of installing one should not be an obstacle. Having one of these is a great investment.
